Electroclash artist EDIE SEDGEWICK is Justin Moyer; with a nom de plume nicked from vacuous Andy Warhol Superstar, Edie Sedgwick is a prolific outsider artist with a fixation on celebrity culture. Edie was unearthed after Justin's first epileptic seizure in 2001; says Dischord Records co-founder Ian MacKaye: "Justin's seizures spawned erratic behavior. His bands (El Guapo, Antelope) broke up. He started wearing cocktail dresses. He wrote an autobiography of Meryl Streep and tried to stage readings at Fugazi shows. And Edie Sedgwick was born." Edie's latest release, Things Are Getting Sinister and Sinisterer, came out on Dischord Records in November 2008 (available on vinyl and MP3 only - a Dischord first). Joined onstage by a full band, this performance is a part of the Backstage Series, smaller scaled performances connecting alternative/emerging artists and audiences. FIELDS OF GAFFNEY are ERIC GAFFNEY (co-founder of Sebadoh) and Les LaBarge (Claudia Malibu). Eric Gaffney, former college radio DJ, pizza driver, lo-fi recording enthusiast, and drummer extraordinaire, is best known as the co-founder of legendary indie rock band SEBADOH. Regarded alternately as one of the godfathers of lo-fi indie rock, a sonic terrorist and as "the guy who has accumulated more indie-rock cred than any one human has ever been able to amass" -Frank Bridges, Delusions of Adequacy. *Part of the Backstage Series - smaller scaled alternative performances in an intimate setting.
